I have found a nearly fool proof method of preventing theft.
My manual choke is so manual, I have to open the bonnet and open the choke myself to get the old beast started !
I sometimes wish someone would snaffle my car, then I could buy an old Landrover, but my kids would never forgive me !

I'm fairly sure I have a choke cable in my garage if you want it ... tell you what I'll swap it for your dodgy turboSarge wrote:I have found a nearly fool proof method of preventing theft.

Seriously though, have you tried disconnecting the cable squrting some WD40 down it then pull/pushing it until it frees up?

It is pure laziness on my behalf. I took the carb off to service/clean, thinking it was the cause of bad running, but it turned out to be electrical. Now I cannot get round to setting the choke cable properly. I am going to hand the car over to one of the MM specialist garages and get it some TLC, i.e. see what really needs doing so will get the choke sorted then.
Alainmoran Thanks for the offer of the cable though.
