can someone please tell me how to get front spring off,I have took off the
2 small nuts and big nut and gently tapped big bolt ,but having no luck, and
cant work out how it is attached.thanks in advance, neil.
Assuming you have released the pressure off the spring.
The two nuts hold on a plate that has the bolt head tightly pressed into, you have removed these so that is the first stage completed. The next stage is to get a good mallet, (i use a wooden one) and hit the threaded end of the bolt as hard as you possibly can. None of this gentle stuff here matey ;), you'll find the bolt is simply tight in the rubber bushes. When you can't clout the thread any more get some grips the other side of the hanger..... or some kind of lever, and wiggle the bolt clear. It is awkward as you have to get right under the car, but they will come.

I agree with bmc, for the price you pay, get a new bolt and nut, plate and the little nuts and bolts. There's nothing like fresh new stuff to put back on with new bushes. Also use the opportunity to give the hanger a good clean and a coat of fresh paint.
When your done, you'll be showing everyone who visits the house your shiney new spring hanger... including the postman
