Wow. had the rot gone that far into the roof or was it old accident damage. I had something similar on mine but not quite as extreme
Just noticed the pushrod on your brake pedal in the photo is very bent
best get a replacement if you haven't already

and yes its very bent, take Mogwai's advice and renew it, I'd also do the bushes on both the pedal and in chassis leg.

dalebrignall , ye the engine is gettin a good goin over to in the next few weeks ,the car wasnt looked after so there is a 100% chance the engine wasnt ,my dad is a mechanic so he is goin to recondition and spray the engine ,no labour chargers !

wow looking good
i am 15 and learning to arc weld. looking at your pictures i see there is a yellow welder. if it is the arc version then i have got the same one.
any tips on arc welding?

Engine had a good boil wash!! How ever did you find a saucepan big enough
Just out of interest are you using Nitromoors to strip the paint off the bonnet and doors?
