It's such a fascinating and busy thread isn't it... although I am approaching forty so even that might have something to do with it!

David heres another one on ebay, perhaps you could take it on so you have something to do in between doing the other one, looks concourse compared to yours and at the speed you work would be on the road next week

At least that's fairly 'honest' rot that hasn't been previously patched. The inner wing I just replaced on my saloon looked better than yours initially but once I started peeling back the layers of old Hammerite-covered MOT bodges it was just as bad underneath.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Darn it, looks like Dr's orders are to take it easy for a couple of days to let the thumb heal. Blast, I'll have to take a step back (Tog,) no choice. Still, for every cloud, I can do some reading from the manual, check up on repair panels and generally get some project planning done. The nurse was shocked that I'd drilled a hole using my smallest drill bit through my thumb nail to relieve the pressure. but ahhh the relief. Those bad boy leaf springs.
Image
on second thoughts not today, just dropped a leaf spring on my thumb.
Ouch - my sympathy on myour thumb. I'd agree with Andrew that front suspension seems to be the most likely thing for falling over or to be tripped over.
I did my thumb like yours with a big hammer at full swing  when trying to free the front lower suspension arms off it's splines. I was expecting to loose the nail but the impact missed the root and it stayed on.

Same as quite a few otheres here, the inner wing and A-post is not the worst I've seen. My pickup was very similar last year, however it was hidden under many patches. One side seemed better and I patched it robustly, but that was much harder work than the 'bad side' where I just replaced the whole thing. What made it ard was the previous bad repairs left it hard to imagine where the panel edges should be - they had patched the engine bay floor and inner wing so much that the shape was lost :( Fortunately I had a good car available and used that as a template.

The pic shows a part of the rear bump stops. It should have a bonded rubber stop affixed. Best to buy two new ones on this occasion

They are part of the rear bump stops, so will come with a new bump stop.
