Post by timmo »

The engine in my resto was removed and stripped, Log book says 948cc but the engine has ali tag with 1100 on it, so i take its a 1098...How can i tell if i have a 1098 gearbox?

The 1098 has a ribbed case with a hole in the top of the bell housing:

The 948 has a smooth case:

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

you should inform the DLVA that you have a 1098 engine in it.. so if you come to sell the car all the numbers match
