In which case fit the cheapest steering wheel anti theft device you can

The cheapo 'double ended fork' types are worse than useless IMHO. My sister used them for a while but they seemed to attract theives rather than deter them

The theives left the lock behind in the carpark so she used it on the next car, which was stolen from the same place...
The sad thing is that they can be so easy to remove it would make me think "that car is easy to steal as they have no idea about real security"

When I had my volvo Turbo I used a disklock - short of putting the car on a trailer there's no easy way to get past it. As they need to be the right size for the wheel you need a different size for a minor

Are you saying that these are useless?
RH did insist that an anti theft device was fitted at night, even in a locked garage, so I use one of these.
RH must be one of the best policies even allowing you to keep the salvage, and must be among the very cheapest.
Nothing would deter a determined thief, they would simply load it on to a trailer.

I too have specified that the anti-theft device be fitted at all times when the car isn't in use - including in the locked garage. I looked at the disk locks but felt it would take up too much space in the car when it was being driven - its almost the size of a passenger!

You might want to check with them They are emphatic about it. It was in the small print of the proposal.

Just had a chat with a really helpful lady, at RH, who checked this out and is going to put the following in writing:

As long as there is a sticker [visual deterrent bit] stating this car has an immobilizer installed [or something like that] then we can use fuel cut out devices. They wish to be informed too.

As regards postcode areas, I live in an extremely low crime area [gnomes have been moved to different gardens and graffiti in the bus shelter!] and the car is garaged overnight.

So, wondering where to get a sticker and to double check what bits I need to buy for the fuel cut out switch.

PS MOT on Saturday and one headlamp looks like it's making a bid for freedom!!!

Nervous about examining the extent of the problem. Gaffa for now and thorough check very soon.....

Asked RH to quote on contents insurance and they spoke to the brokers, Equity Red Star, who said they couldn't offer a quote.

No reason given and RH unable to explain why.

Would like to know why.
