Last summer of innocence?? Well "off-topic"!
Sitting in our static caravan, sun is out, looking like it could be a glorious summer, making the most of the fleeting period in time.
My just-11 year old daughter and her friend are sitting there playing with their set of pony toys. That game of imagination where every move is prefixed with "pretend I...", usually abbreviated to "p'tend"!!
When so many of their peers have already started the pouts and posturing of their teenage siblings, it is gladdening to see such innocence, but by next summer it will probably have all long gone!!
Appreciate each day!!
Wow! where did all that come from? Think I'll go back to the "silly game"!

My daughter is 11 too. She has a huge active imagination and still playing with teddies etc. She shows no signs of wanting to glam-up and long may that be so.
Unfortunately The appeal of travelling in a Minor is waning. That could be for several reasons:
1. It's dad's embarrassing old car.
2. He always drives us with the roof down and it's freezing and my hair goes everywhere.
3. It's got no legroom.
4. I want to sit in the front on the posh seats.
It's too bouncy to play Nintendo.
etc etc

Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.
Mine is still plenty "cool" enough, maybe edging towards "doooody"!
But then Molly is a traveller, maybe a tad more quirky?
My brother just bought a brand new top-of-the-range Clio. Given the choice of a first ride in that, or following in Molly, she chose the latter!
Just got to work on some spekers in the rear for their ghastly mp3 things!
As you say, long may it continue, but those teen years are just round the corner.....Ughhh!

I remember when 3 kids and I piled into Miriam my first Moggy (almond green 2dr) son was guitar mad (still is) We went into a music shop and he chose his first guitar. We left the shop only to realise that we couldn't get the box in the car
Left the packaging behind and son played guitar all the way home! Did get funny looks from other cars at the traffics light though. Memories........

those that continue to learn end up being the experts... Those that think they know it all can be legends - but only in their own living room ;-)I think we're all learning something every day with these cars. No 2 seem to be the same
