should I keep?

Post by FrankM83 »

well after removing the engine out I am left with two towers which there bolts seem to have embedded in with the rust and am very tempted to just cut the towers off! but don't want to ruin two towers, but they don't look too good eaither what you think? by the way the brown is rust no paint!

If you can get new good towers cut the old ones off and be done with.

As a tip after you fit the new ones tack weld the nuts onto the chassis, you'll be glad you did next time you need to get them the bolts out!

3 of the 4 bolts are accessible with a 115mm angle grinder from underneath.
The one above the tie bar rubber is the one that will cause most greif but if you're cutting the towers off you can get it from the top.

in theory yes. In practice the person who built my car didnt know that and its caused me quite a few problems when I have had to do tie bar bushes and engine removals!
