... And another newbie saying hello.

Post by Bretta »

Just wanted to introduce myself and say “Hello” to everyone as I've just become the proud owner of a G reg Moggie 1000.

I've managed to survive on Vespas and Lambrettas over the last 10 years, but fancied getting four wheels as we prepare ourselves for the annual deluge that we call summer.

My first ever car that I learnt to drive in was a Minor 1000, I was about 14 at the time and used to drive it up and down a light aircraft strip on a farm, until it fell to bits.

kind regards
Ivan

Welcome Ivan. Youmight want to think about putting your location on your profile. You may have lots of MM's near bye.

Thanks for the welcome, Dan. No doubt I'll have some dumb questions to ask as I'm pretty much a dunce when it comes to four wheels.

Maybe the reason for all these newbies is the amount of press coverage lately about Minors and how relatively inexpensive they are as an alternative to modern motoring... we'll see about the inexpensive part, eh?

regards
Ivan

Thanks Rob, that's a good idea, as I'll be needing advice from others.

The only stupid question is the one thats not asked! :D

And if you get a decent one they are about as close to free motoring as you can get.

I did a days work at B&Q in Hastings a few years back (tiny store and it was massivly short staffed that day, so they sent me all the way from the Brighton store!)

That's encouraging to know. Mine looks a little tatty very close up but it is relatively unmolested and seems to go very well indeed.

I've got tons of spares with it and practically its entire service history, original booklets, manuals, bills etc.

hello, welcome to the forum, although i'm new to the forum myself. i used to ride a 1977 vespa primavera but think i much prefer moggies! theres plenty of books about so its easy to learn the mechanics of a moggie.

Just a quick pointer. The "other forum" mog.myfreeforum.org has a chap called Bluesman from Sweeden. He is currently in the finishing stages of restoring a vespa primavera (its a good forum too!)

Ahh... the good old "Primmy". I stuck an old primmy engine in my 50 Special... that's how you go faster when you'rd only 16.

Ooops... better stop the scooter talk, I'll get thrown off the forum before I even start. :D :D :D
