That's true, I have fitted them in my van, but in this case would that present a problem, as the aim is to be closer to the peddles? Of course it may be too close. I'll pretend my van is a pick-up tomorrow and see what the position is like!But the van has room for the seat back to use where as the pick up with the fixed cab back/bulkhead is totally restricted!

Yes, but the lower cab back/bulkhead stops the use of the recline function of the metro seat so in effect the seat retains the same position as if it were in a pickup. In this case it would seam that the seat needs to be moved further forward than normal, so this might allow some room to rake the rear of the seat.

Just to let you all know I've now got some Metro seats - courtesy PaulK (local to me) if in doubt try it out!! So I'll let you all know if it works out. Not to bothered about the recline function so long as the seat goes nearer 
Doubt if I'll be trying to sleep in it anyway (unless waiting for the RAC!)
