Hi all, I have just taken delivery of a Maniflow LCB manifold but am having a slight problem fitting it. I have an alloy inlet manifold to go with it but where it bolts to the head it is thicker than the exhaust manifold so the nuts don't reach it. The inlet manifold is about 3mm thicker than the exhaust manifold. Hope this kind of makes some sense Any suggestions?

Are you saying the inlet manifold is too thick for the studs then? Make sure that both manifolds are actually sitting flush on the flat bit on the side of the head and not on another bit of the casting. I had that happen once (big air leak) and wondered why it wouldn't idle.
I had this and used 1 complete washer and cut another washer in half, my mate then tacked welded them just to keep them together. The thin side them went onto the inlet and thick side onto the exhaust manifold. This was enough to make up the difference between the 2 manifolds. Remember the manifold washers are thicker than normal washer or they were on my Morris. Hope this helps, Jeff
agree with Stig, make sure you check clearance with the centre "branch", as all manifolds i have had have rested on that one. bit of a pain in the behind.
I've had to do what you suggest before. Manufacturers really should get their heads round this one - most inlets are the same thickness, so make the exhausts to match - simple
Jeff's mod with the washers and half washers is very normal in Mini world! It works. You can also file down the edge of the inlet manifold flanges till they are same thickness as the exhaust - but washer trick is easier!
The epoxy won't last in the heat - but will get them in place this time round - even superglue would do that! Best to weld them together - so they don't fall and get lost next time round !
