No doubt, to add insult to injury, you had to pay to send the parts back as well. Watch out to make sure you recover those costs.

If Neil can get some decent chroming done then I'm first in the queue, and happy to pay commercial rates.

If the guarantee dictates that alledged faulty parts have to be returned to the manufacturer for testing then you will have to wait I'm afraid. I know it doesn't help, but it might be that a batch of parts were faulty so this needs to be investigated so that they can recall batched parts, and save future customers from the same experience. (ideal world).
It might just be delaying tactics and the part still resides on Bully's shelf to be returned to you with a 'not faulty notice' (cynical view)
You will be lucky to have your post refunded, we have returned tons of faulty stock to various Minor and non Minor suppliers and have never had a refund.
In our case we can loose valuable time and money trying to fit parts only to find them faulty, but we have never been offered consequential loss despite the fact that several parts have been proven faulty or not fit for purpose.
I'd write to Bully explaining the situation and pin them down to resolving the problem within 10 working days, if nothing is forthcoming highlight that you will then contact trading standards and send a letter of complaint into the MMOC so that a record can be kept relating to the wealth of shoddy goods on sale today. Hopefully then the MMOC will develop some teeth and help our cause for better parts. (dreamland) :D

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll write to them as you have suggested Jonathon. I will put a time limit on it and then contact trading standards.

Thanks again.

I am , and I am sure there are others , are waiting to see the the vendor's handling of this situation , before placing their next parts order . How else does the consumer control replacement parts quality and pricing? I fully expect Bull Motif will do the right thing .

Just a thought did you pay by credit card ? If so you may be able to claim from the card provider if the goods cost over £100, theres a page on Which's website that provides information as to what your rights are.

Guess what arrived in the post this afternoon?
A brand new lamp base direct from the company that manufactures them. It had a note saying that they reckon I have a faulty earth on the car.

I phoned Bullmotif to thank them.
Well what can I say - chuffed to the guttie with the replacement.

A real result.
Thanks for all of your tips and support guys.

Best make SURE the earth wire is properly connected this time - although I seriously doubt that's the problem.

thats the true British spirit! We moan like fury when we are messed around by suppliers, then when supplier finally sends item we are "over the moon"!
Hope the chrome is better on this one, but sounds unlikely- can you imagine someone plating something for 12 hours if they can get away with less? Time is money! In France they would have organised a mass MMOC blockade of the manufacturers building, and burnt a few moggys for good measure
