Non-original indicator stalk?

Post by Dryad »

I've just bought a 1968 Traveller and it has this indicator stalk which I've never seen the like of before. Or perhaps I'm not very observant! I've posted a pic on http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w50/ ... CF0033.jpg

I know the steering wheel is non-original.

Looks like one from around the late 50's but modified slightly with the warning lamp on the mount.

That is a 58 style switch/horn push. For 57 the indicator was in the speedo next to the hi/lo light. The next revision moved the indicator as shown. Then the familiar light at the end and center horn push was used. Strange that someone whould put it on a 68 model.

It wont take to much to put the correct one back in I suppose a previous owner had one spare instead of the correct one.
Cheers

Hmm. I've had quite a lot of interest in both the indicator stalk and the steering wheel via PMs, so I might put them on eBay. I need as much cash as I can get to buy new wood for my Traveller :-)

I would have put them on eBay this evening, but eBay have screwed up again! They tell me I can't list an item until I have verified my PayPal account, which I did three years ago. They asked me again 18 months ago and then admitted it was their mistake, and now they're asking me again! Anyway, I've emailed them and I'm hoping they will let me list the items this weekend. I've been an eBay member for ten years, you'd think they would realise I'm not a scammer by now...
