I'm going to need all the help I can get from you lovely people!
I'm in the process of recovering these seats and upon dismantling the old covers and packing some things seem to be very unoriginal.
It seams that my seats are the early type series 2 and have the springs attached to the bottom frame, then another spring array on top, someone who recovered such a seat would certainly know what I'm talking about.
So please any help, pics advices on how to go about this task...greatly appreciated...

I have recently recovered a Series II '56 seats, but as the springs were ok I just "peeled" the old leather/rexine covers off. I unpicked them and used them as a template for the new ones. The old "stuffing" seems to be kapok which you can get from some furniture upholsterers still. Mine was still ok. I used butter muslin and copied the pockets again on the new seats which have the kapok in for back support. Hope this helps you. Will look if I have any pics later.

Unfortunately I think it is different from your model, but still would appreciate to see some pics if you have some.

The difference in the seat models is that the back rest covers slide in your case, mine come in two parts and the back part is tacked with nails to the wood in my frame shown here:

but otherwise the horizontal part should be the same apart from the swivel bracket. My concern is that the cover for the bottom part would cover only this spring array frame:

and therefore it would only be attached to the main seat frame (the maroon part) via four small springy steel clips (shwing in the pic), which in my opinion are not enough to hold everything together
