My traveller dilema

Post by Robins »

I'm still undecided if to sell my traveller or not. It just doesn't give me the same enjoyment to drive like my van, so I want more power and better handling, heres some ideas, what do you think.
I have a escort back axle that I could fit, and want a sierra 5 speed box, and tube shocks all round. As for engine, I have a 1275 ital motor under the bench, but don't feel this will be satisfying enough even when tuned.
A supercharger would be nice, but to me seems slightly boring, the sound of a turbo would be perfect to my ears and I do find the whole lag thing part of the fun, but I also want reliable, useable, and worst of all I have a budget (something i've never had to deal with before). I can hear you laughing already. Ok a different engine maybe? I don't like cutting cars but on this occasion will consider bulkhead alterations. Is there any way I can move the steering rack? I don't mind suspension mods, as long as I don't have to alter the chassis legs away from original. I also have a bit of a hankering for a 6 cylinder engine.
Do I stick with it and try to build the dream car, or sell up and buy something thats fun to start with, help?
cheers, Daniel

The pulling power of a Turbo Diesel! The voices may not be real, but they have good ideas.

I think your first suggestion is correct or you would have given an option for the second suggestion.
Cheers
