I use the Asda Stuff in the minor and fiesta if I'm desperate. And yes, it has gone up, I was a bit suprised.

Local morrisons only sells 1ltr bottles

20/50 oil with no ratings may well be 'recycled'
ie- it's used mashed oil that's been cleaned to remove the carbon :o

A 20/50 with API or ACEA ratings can be got for under a tenner if you spend enough time searching - so if you do more than a few hundred miles it'll be worth it.

I could be wrong, but I believe that in the past, the oil used in London buses was continually recycled and reused.

Nothing wrong with recycled oil for the A series engine - our drinking water is constantly recycled! The oil is heated under vacuum to remove moisture and volatiles - then fine filtered, and finally additives are , well, added to bring it up to spec. It's fine in these old motors - I used it in my 1340 Mini engine no problems at all.

I doubt your water is very recycled BMC.
I saw a program about water many years ago and it said London water could have been through 6 people before you drink it, Yum :x

All drinking water is recycled - waste runs to sea - sun evaporates water from sea - vapour turns to cloud - clouds gather over Scotland (mostly) - then down it comes to refill the reservoirs!

The conservation of matter and the water cycle don't count as recycling.
Water from clouds and mountain streams is a more attractive proposition than humans and treatment plants.
I'll pass on the dead sheep though

The thing with the Asda (and potentially Morrisons) oil is that they don't say what spec/ 20W50 can mean a whole variety of things. If it had an API rating on it I'd be with you. But atm it's good enough only for my car with knackered rings and the minor (well, ital-engined-minor) and the healthy-engined-DAF get API rated staff.
