Sidney'61/Andy, your test...

Post by callyspoy »

Now i've just tried to find a thread about it, but either you are being very sneaky or you were just waiting to see who noticed, but you certainly look like you have passed your test now...
if so, WOOHOO! if i am just adding to an old thread then i do apologise, but i haven't seen anything about it.
bloody good form there old chap!

Yeah well done mate (we've all sen the "P")
Congrats - coming to Castle Brom on 26/04 as the "driver" now? I am guessing you will still have to bring the "Olds" though as they will feel left out :-)

Thanks guys, no I haven't started a thread, I thought I'd just keep it a bit quieter :) 'cuz i'm strange like that.
Anyway, once I eventually get used to driving the minor (very different to my instructor's car!) I can drive to all the rallies.
We'll be going to a rally with the Rugby branch on the 26th (can't remember where now  ) so I won't be a castle bromwich, sorry.

Well done matey. It's a great feeling isn't it? Much better than reaching 18 or 21 - whatever that was all about.
Have you been out for that 'really long drive just for the h*ll of it' yet?

Firstly congratulations :D
you learnt to pass a test, now you get to learn how to drive
I can vouch for that - the wife is getting some bad habits. Aparently that's just how they're taught to drive these days!!!
In my day you'd have failed your test for waiting in 1st when the traffic lights go red... According to her instructor, this changed ages ago because 'people found it hard'

gears for go, brakes for slow - complete rubbish and potentially lethal. Because of this rubbish, people don't engine brake and when the engine stalls the brake servo runs out of vac and they crash, people get injured or worse.

You should have tried it with the Midget clutch it had before then! That was terrible. Much to heavy with the rod set up and a nightmare when in traffic which is why it now has the 1098 clutch with the ford centreplate  Much better! :D

Pertish nonsense. T'was car and driver in perfect harmony. 8)
Besides, I'd be suprised if we got more than 36 degrees out. These days I'm more used to 360 !
