I like your drive to work Cam... beats driving to Newcastle like you did a few years ago

They certainly do! That camera on my phone does not do justice to those lanes. plus the light was going plus excuses, excuses.

It certainly beats 3-4 hours of motorway Mal, that's a fact.

Not to mention the freezing temperatures, snow, fog and rain and more rain! I could just do with a bit of your red dirt roads and sun! :D

I have had my car out 5 times this year, and its rained at some point on 4 of those trips!

Bit of your sun would not go amiss now and then, but you can keep the spiders *shudder*

Lots of good entries this week. :)

After much deliberation I've chosen this picture by Stevey as the winner:
Image

I love lots of things about it: the composition, the colours, the tunnel of trees arching over the road with light at the end, and the mottled reflections in the car's paintwork and window. :)

Honourable mention goes to this photo from Cam:
Image

The picture quality isn't brilliant but there's something about it that for me captures the essence of driving along a country lane in a Minor. :)

Over to Stevey to pick the next topic. Here are the past topics:

Red phonebox
Pub called The Crown
Church with spire
Police person
Windmill
Race track
Double decker bus
Non Morris rally
Post box
Sheep
Train
Civic building
Sea
Large earthmoving equipment
Mountain
Cow
Tool
First Minor
House
Bridge
Aircraft
Festive
Pets
Famous places
Ferry
Signs
Place of worship
Supermarket
Garage
Axle stands
Coal
Kiln
Tree-lined lane

it really getting difficult to pick topics. If anyone has any ideas?? In the mean time what about a typical 1950s/1960s scene? Like your minor and a picnic or at the beach or something you could mistake for a 1950s picture. Its a bit vague but see what you come up with....

Bit "out there" but just to get things going:

Image

The Lovell telescope at Jodrell Bank, built in 1957. And my Minor, built in 1966. Bet this scene would not have looked too different back then :D

This was taken on a film shoot, a night scene outside the old hospital in Templemore Avenue with another minor and a Bedford Ambulance as well as several other old cars you cant see, films supposed to be out by the end of March but havent saw it listed yet.
Image
Same movie, but looks much more peroid in black and white!
Image
Do the film companies ask for clean cars for use in period films? It seems to me these productions would be a lot more realistic (to us anoracks  ) if 90% of the cars weren't concourse and had dents and rust instead. :)
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

But if the film is set in the year the car was made, then the car would be brand spankin' new, so no dents or rust :D
