I was wondering if anyone had fitted a Front suspension modification using the birmingham minor Centre SPAX kit? Was it easy to fit and how big a difference has it made?
any views whether this is a bettter mod than an anti roll bar?
ARB not really necessary, but re-visit after you sort out the dampers. Good dampers are definitely the first step, although there is nothing wrong with lever arm dampers if in good condition - with a suitable grade of oil inside! The best damper kits have weld-on upper mounting. Those that rely on bolt on bracket using the existing damper mounting bolts - are best avoided. Make sure the bump stops (and rebound stops) are present and correct.
Wouldn't use Spax at all nowadays, as they have much better competition from AVO, which, should you need to, are fully rebuildable.
We stopped using Spax over 5 years ago
I'm sure no one would mind getting AVO shocks instead of Spax, i know a couple of people who hold them in high regard, on a MKI escort and a locost seven though!
