Aghhh

I now have windows mail - good old outlook express doesn't work in Vista!

The problem is that the only language is American English.

Any suggestions for alternatives?

I tried thunderbird - unfortunately it wont let me import settings or address book from Windows Mail.

There is supposed to be a way round it but its not recommended as outlook is regarded as being obsolete sometime in the future with no more upgrades so one of our tech people at work says.

How did you import your addresses etc. into Windows mail?

I just exported them from outlook express on to a memoory stick the imported them into windows mail. That bit was easy!

Wish Vista had never been invented - its horrible! I wish I'd never got a laptop with Vista on it. XP is much better and more stable but that is my opinion. Sorry that doesn't help youbut makes me feel better having a rant .....................

Didn't realise that outlook express didn't work on Vista - my daughter has Vista on her laptop but uses MSN for email so she hase never needed an email program.

My wife gets her new laptop this week so I guess these issues will be more relevant then - thanks for the advance warning.

Windows mail (Vista)

* Import to Thunderbird: Windows mail stores the messages as .EML files. You can use the ImportExportTools extension to import .EML files. It lets you select multiple .EML files at the same time.

I got to like Vista more as I used it, and now that my new laptop has XP I actually miss it!
Plus Windows Mail was really reliable and much better than Outlook Express.
So don't be too depressed about it all! :)

Well I got the Windows Mail sorted out on the new laptop, to be honest it looks just like Outlook Express with a different name.
