My Traveller was registered 28.5.1971 and is an Aderley park car.One of the best preserved I've had though.Couldn't have been on strike at the time I guess.
Rob, see here for a brief history. Basically when production stopped at Cowley there was still demand for commercials so production moved there for a short while....
I've got a traveller (1971) and a van (registered in May72) that were made at Adderley Park. Traveller is notable being Aqua in colour that was only used at that factory whilst the van is Damask red, also an Adderley Park only colour, though I expect theres more (Teal blue for eg). I assume the Cowley works were being readied for Marina production which was why the tail end of the Minor production line were shuffled out of the way to the old Morris Commercial plant.
I've also got a brick from the Adderley Park factory, that was appropriated from a tumbledown wall on a visit in 1998on the 50th anniversary of the Morris J type van do, (another Adderley Park vehicle, though possibly outside the topic of this website!) so I guess I contributed to the destruction of the factory, not that there was much left by then....

gday all My dad worked at Adderley park as a Vehicle inspector on Mcc vehicles he inspected vehicles as they exited production line. I have his 25 year certificate and watch to remember him by.Through him my brother and I were able to purchase Brand new straight from Longbridge an A35 VAN EACH AS THEY WERE GOING OUT OF PRODUCTION, i GOT MINE 2 DAYS BEFORE GETTING MARRIED IN 1963 SORRY FORGOT TO CANCEL CAPITOLS
I believe there were 3 adderly only colours used on cars (not sure of LCVS) Glacier white (my trav, a very pure white) Aqua (blue/green) and Limeflower (Babysick beige/green)
Interesting. Only had mine a few months and not got round to looking into its history and where it started life. Wouldn't call it 'one of the best preserved' though, it had all new wood about 10 years ago and a 'semi' restoration and needs a fair bit of tidying up and fettling. I took it as a part ex for a '61 saloon I sold (made me feel like a real motor dealer) only really because I fancied a change and liked the colour.... (so not too much like a real motor dealer then!)
cheers
