Feeling very pleased. After being required to loads of diy recently - new bathroom suite etc - I managed to grab some hours today to remove the first of the front chassis legs. I had to cut most of it with the angle grinder first rather than merely drilling out spot welds but it was fine in the end. The tie plates are in surprisingly good condition too.
A question - I'll be plug welding instead of spot welding the new chassis leg onto the car - how far apart should the plug welds be?
I'll put some pictures up sometime soon too.
Thanks

I normally go for about every inch and a half. For mine though i went for the weld an inch miss an inch idea (seam welding) as plug welding can be a bit of a pain when welding above your head. Also its important that the two panels are clamped tightly together which can be difficult with a chassis rail.
