wiring in a Fiat twin

Post by callyspoy »

hi folks, nearly tehre with the Fiat twin project, looks rather sexy in the engine if i do say so myself! sacrilege i know!
but...my problem is wiring it in.
for starters, the starter! i have the pull type switch, which obviously links to the solonoid, but the fiat starter has a solonoid attached to it. so...what do i do here??
The other thing is the alternator, i already had an alternator in the car, so polarity etc isn't a problem, just knowing what goes where!
any other help with other wiring bits would be greatly appreciated! like...the electronic sender on the carb? what's that all about??
cheers in advance,
callum

Just use your pull-start (which is not a 'solenoid') as a switch to send current to the solenoid on the new starter. Obviously - it will need the main battery feed connecting to it's main terminal - and your pull start will simply take a small ignition fed supply down to the solenoid on the starter. Alternator should just wire up as before - unless it is strange foreign item with more than two terminals ?
