Okay, so Vixy (the new DAF) needs 4 (well techincally 5) new tyres. Anyone know anywhere that actually has 145/80R14s? I've tried every local and internet supplier to no avail with the exception of Bridgestones, which I can get, but which are really...painfully...expensive for a teeny engined car like the DAF. The one place that had any other brands listed - turned out they were out of stock, actually 8ply van tyres, and also discontinued!
My only other thought is to go the same way as my minor and step up even further from the original 135s (I'm presuming original, 'cos that's what was on both of the DAFs), and put on 155/80R14s. Thing is I find them a bit...squidgy on the minor, and was hoping to get some decent 145s for her when I sort her properly. The other option was to step down the tyre ratio and get some 155/65R14s, which apparently are around, and might reduce the squidgyness, but also make the diameter of the tyre smaller...screwing with the instruments and the gearing (not that I've found any that are cheaper than the Bridgestones anyway) :-/
So, anyone got any helpful suggestions or thoughts?

Aye, see, Places have the Bridgestone 145s, but 40-50 quid per tyre I can't afford. Especially when I need four
Hence the 155/80 or 155/65. Mind if it'll make the steering really heavy then I'm disenclined to do either. Mind, I suppose I could get two 155/80s, if I hate them they can live on the back...and I could get some 145s to go on the front (we've currently got 145s on the back and 135s on the front).
