I have been asked what is the best type of outdoor car cover to use and as I dont have one I thought someone on here will know.

Yes - Cover zone cover works well for my TR7. I have out it on a wet car (because it was still pouring down!) - and next day it was dry underneath - so the material does 'breathe'. Just be aware of any sharp edges that could tear the cover.

You have to be quite specific with search words otherwise you get 100's of results! I entered "cover" as the search word rather than "car cover" which narrowed it down a bit.

It's because the search finds the most recent thread containing the word 'cover' and the car for sale has an alloy rocker 'cover'.

Anyone know the legalities of covering a car parked on a residential street? I am guessing it's a no as the charming traffic wardens can't see your tax or resi permit - is there such a thing as a cover with a clear bit to show off these delightful tax discs?

Don't know about the hole for the tax disc CeeLou but the CoverZone folk www.cover-zone.com are friendly and honest, they steered me away from the (expensive) Monsoon cover towards the (much cheaper) Voyager one, which seems to work pretty well so far at under £60. Fits a Moggy a treat and comes with underbody straps to stop it blowing away down the road.

Having used expensive ones in the past, I am currently trying a 'very' cheap breathable cover, with mirror pockets, and it will be interesting to see how it compares.

No, not the Voyager, they give you little red bootee things to put over the mirrors though. First time I used them I forgot they were on there and dropped 'em into the mud when I pulled the cover off. Put 'em in the washing machine and now they're in that mysterious land where most of my socks live, ie Lost. Doesn't bother me not having them though.

I think if it was on the street you'd need to make sure it had something reflective on it as it's covering up the car's reflectors so traffic can't see your car in the dark.

The legalities of street parking is that the number plate and tax disk must be visible
