Ani, if you have a brother in Coventry get him to pop over to us in Napton I will give you 5 good steel wheels for free, they will only require tyres, although this is not an issue. PM me if you are interested

Rostyles as far as I am aware were only available as 13s....

For 4" pcd. Plenty others about (MGB/Ford etc) - but not with 4" pcd to suit Minor!

MGBs had 14" Rostyles but the PCD is 4.5" not 4" I think.

I'm sure Dan is correct - I'll take a look at them in the morning. All I know is they are slightly wider than the saloon tyres.

Hi Ani,

I'm pretty sure I still have four original Morris Minor wheels in my workshop, if they are still there your welcome to them. They will need new tyres though as the tyres are pretty old. I'm in Whyteleafe/ Lingfield.

By going back to the original wheel size will also raise the gearing slightly, I used to have 13" Rostyles on a Traveller, although it did handle slighty better (very difficult to notice in a woddy) I used to always be looking for 5th gear.

I agree with what others have said regarding the studs and the nuts, change both, I lost a couple studs a few years ago whilst conering and the whole car felt as if the wheel was coming off even though it didn't.

Another option would be to buy a set of 14" alloys, I know some people hate seeing Minors on these but they are an option. They also help by reducing the unsprung weight, which improves both the steering and the overal handling of the Minor. I'm sure you could get a pretty good deal on these at the moment.

I think I saw your pick-up at Brooklands?? If so I would love to get the bodywork on mine looking as good as yours. Speak to you again I'm sure.

Bull Motif have the parts - http://www.morrisminorspares.net/shop_item.php?ID=3113 Note front studs are slightly shorter. They have the nuts too! Ask them for a 'deal' - for a full set of studs and nuts.

Doesn't look very nice at all. Can you remove one of the nuts to see if it does have a double ended taper, and what state the wheel is in? Midgets had 13" Rostyles, and they are the correct 4" PCD, BUT the nut taper angle is diffferent, so you would need to use Midget wheel nuts (they are the same 3/8" UNF thread size).

If there is no taper, and the nut has been fitted 'backwards', then definitely replace the wheels, studs and nuts!

I think we've established that the wheels should be changed but I will check to see if the nut has a double ended taper. I'll report back on that one tomorrow. I've had a number of offers on the wheel front so I'm sure it will all be sorted soon. Won't need them all as I don't really want to start up a Minor Wheel shop

oooh, plus, you will need five wheels. One for each corner, and one as a spare (legal requirement)
