Thanks and an update

Post by MattRuch »

The Morris is running well. It's been about eight weeks and 260 miles since the engine rebuild.

I lent my van to a new arrival to the post here and relied on the Moggie as a daily driver (16 miles one-way) most every day for the last two weeks. Most mornings there was a good frost on the windows and we had our fair share of rain during the days. I continue to be impressed at how this unmodified 40 year old car can reliably carry on.

The photo was taken today during our gorgeous morning sunshine. I'm pleased to say that all three cars are running well.

I re-torqued the head and changed the oil and filter this afternoon. Nothing bad to report...no bits of visible metal in the filter...all seems good.

Thanks to all that were of invaluable assistance on the forum to help me thru the job.

Great stuff! I do admire people that use them everyday, I am too scared of mine being nicked/crashed into/going more rusty than it already is ;)

Yes, they hold their own all right. I use a 45 year old one daily and usually do a 40 mile round trip. :D :D
