 Thanks, Wib. :D

I mentioned this challenge to a good friend of mine in our branch (Geoff Oakes) and he took these photos today of his Traveller at Chatterley Whitfield where he used to work. He went there in his Traveller specially for the picture challenge! :D

Cam, you beat me to it, I thought I'd try and get some Mining Heritage related photo's but this is the best I could come up with.

I call them "Essence of Molly"

This is me in front of a winding wheel on the site of Fives colliery, Cannock.
Image
...and in front of the sign for The Levels, Brereton. The sign gives the details of the site as the level crossing for the coal railway for Brereton mines. The track took the wagons to the canal basin.
Image
And a final one of me in front of a poignant road sign.
Image
A few more of them are here: http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a8/bri ... challange/

Excellent work, Britab! I can see it's going to be difficult to choose a winner. :)

Great photo and I have heard of some owners going overboard with the spares they carry but a spare wing and front panel with you at all times
Cheers

  One day I hope to be able to drive the rest of the car as well.

Ray, there's life out side Rugeley???
Lived in or around all my life, so far.

I wanted to include Lea Hall in the photo's but there nothing left other than the bridge over the canal at the entrance, so didn't bother. My dad, a fitter at Lea Hall, took me in a couple of times, usually to pick up something that had been fabricated over the night shift. Sad it's all gone really.

Throw me a tissue please regaliaqueen.

Alex,

I have spoken to Geoff and he's delighted to have won! :D Thanks. :D

Being as the two main industries in the Potteries area were the 'pits and the pots' (mining and pottery), we thought it would be appropriate for the next picture challenge to be:

Your Minor next to a Bottle Kiln.

Have a look at this picture to see what I mean. It was taken in 2003 at the Potteries branch rally held at Gladstone pottery museum, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.

In the picture, you can see Geoff's car (2nd from the right) and my modified 4 door car (2nd from the left).

Can those of us not fortunate enough to live in Staffs enter a photo of our minor next to a bottle? :P
