Any body got any ideas how to get the steering wheel off...Haynes says unscrew the small screw from the side of the steering wheel boss...
But......there is no screw!
I tried to leaver out the horn button assembly and snapped a bit of the assembly
Any body got any ideas? Much appreciated

It depends on the steering wheel. On the three spoke wheels the horn push was held on by a screw on the side of the wheel. On the two spoke wheel the horn push is I think a push fit.
First job is to remove the fuse that the horn operates through. I believe its the inside one but I can't be bothered to go outside tonight to check. This will avoid annoying the neighbours when you short the connections out.
Mark the position of the wheel on the splines with tipex or similar. This will enable you to re align the wheel.
Remove the main nut with a 3/4 whitworth socket.
Wiggle the steering wheel rim until it loosens on the spline then remove it. Keep you head out of the way, they have been known to come off suddenly

Yes the horn push is only a push fit and shouldnt be too difficult to wiggle out dont try and lever one side in one go do a bit at a time side to side.
Personally I always leave the nut on a turn or two as I have had to use a mallet to free it before now and as Mike mentioned its not unknown for it to free suddenly and give you a wack on the chin.Remove the main nut with a 3/4 whitworth socket.
Cheers
