if he's lucky he might get to sit in the morrie and pretend he's having a drive!!

actually i know thats what the both of them would end up doing!!

depending on the weather though i dont think much will be happening in the driveway!!

will probably be about 38 - 40 degrees today!!

Okay she got licensed!!

now for my questions!!

i am wanting to redo the interior, however am thinking that if i am going
to do that should i get a respray and get any bumps and knocks fixed up.

was thinking this way as if i am going to get interior striped down and redone that would be the time to get her sprayed.

this was the list of wants i had so far...

window rubbers replaced... are looking dry and cracked

vynll inside is torn in spots... replace all

car seats all redone

carpets new

replace seatbelts

and then respray... fix bumps...

thats it...

and also any engine problems that pop up on the way...

do you think its okay to respray even though its all original... i am getting worried that i may be doing an injustice!

thanks heaps for all of your thoughts and ideas!!

Karen

Congratulations on getting the car licensed (registered).

I can only assume that this means that it goes well and you have no concerns on that score.

You obviously have some concerns about its appearance. I can't help much with that, but the window and other rubbers can be important to prevent leaks. They (leaks) are not only inconvenient, but they lead to such things as soggy, smelly carpet and eventually, holes in the floor. I guess dust ingress could be a problem in your area too.

The rubber bits for the Morry are available from car rubber specialists in Oz, or alternatively from a Morry Specialist in North Rocks, Sydney. The latter will have carpets too. (We aren't supposed to promote companies on this site, except perhaps to say that we are satisfied with the service.)

Another approach is to order from any one of a number of firms in the UK who will send the parts--whether they be rubber or otherwise--in about a week. You can order on the web, phone or fax.

I hope this helps.

Don - You can recommend supliers that you have used and have been happy with the service you received. What the rules don't permit is public flogging of companies that you feel have given you a dis-service or traders advertising their own products.
Feel free to advise on any good traders in your country as that will help others :-)

On to Karen's question - If the car really is all original I would, personnlly, repair any local areas of paint and trim that need attention whilst trying to maintain as much of the original car as possible. Un restored cars are very rare these days (in the UK at least) and it is great to have an original car...

I think the only thing i can see that has been changed is the boot appears to have been resprayed at one stage.

the seats are about 2cm thick!! and i feel like i am a mile away from the steering wheel even when i am as close as it will let me...

have topped up the oil and cleaned under the engine as i think i saw a bit of a leak and i wanted to see if it was coming from the bolt or some where else... will find out in the morning..

still cant believe she is in the drive!

there is a sizable dent where the drivers door has opened too far and dented on the front panel, well just a line about 30 - 40cm long.

still am lost for names... she is a girl though...

my kids had a great time playing in her and beeping and pretending to drive!!

thanks for all the help!!

is truly appreciated!!

Glad you got "her" home safetly! In the temperatures you've got replacing the rubber window seals etc will not be a necessity at the mo (unlike here where one minute we have sun and the next a deluge :( )! Find a camera and lets see what she looks like? :D
