Next Web Rally???
Hi Guys
if I organise this would anyone be interested in a web rally near Portsmouth?
Im thinking of meeting at the Royal Armouries Museum
http://www.armouries.org.uk/visit-us/fort-nelson
or the royal marines museum
http://www.royalmarinesmuseum.co.uk/
Then a little run down to Portchester Castle (free entry around the castle - but it costs to enter the keep)
http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/serv ... 1300700300
With a run back up to the pub at the top of Portsdown hill which has fantastic views over Portsmouth and the Solent.
It would be on a Sunday probably at the end of April, beginning of May.
Anyone interested?

Please read my post under 2009 MOT-UK. If the event is not organised by a branch, or sanctioned by the MMOC, it will not be covered by the Club's Public Liability Insurance.

As I understand it, unless organised by a registered branch, and/or sactioned by the committee, the clubs public liability insurance does not apply. If the club did indeed sanction these events, perhaps you could send me a copy of the minutes showing this.

Why can't everyone work together? I'm trying damned hard to promote the club, and also putting a lot of time into MOT-UK, and now this. I was not even advised of this situation by a member of the committee.

If it were, then there wouldn't be a problem.Sidney'61 wrote:I thought the messageboard had become an official branch now... I obviously misread

It apparently has to be formally sanctioned by the committee, or at least that is what I am being told about MOT-UK. Also bear in mind that the whole committee are aware of this event, Different rules for committee members?

The message I sent made no mention of website rallies.Judge wrote:PS This information was provided by your husband.
The message to you was sent on behalf of the committee.
The public liability insurance is to protect YOU, the organiser against possible claims arising from the event. I don't see why you're making a big deal out of it.

This would need very careful clarification, preferably in writing, before assuming that this was the case Jonathon.jonathon wrote:Matt , if you have an agreement with the museums you mention then they should automatically cover the insurance. The cars will be parked up , not racing around so I'd carry on with your ideas, irrespective of MMOC involvement.
