Speedos

Post by FrankM83 »

OK browsing through the speedos I have, I found 3 bronze faced ones, the SNN no is 4007/00 1504 then I went to check what's the SNN on my 58 saloon and it's SNN 4406? / 00 1525 , on my 57 Traveller it's SNN 4401/15 1500 the latter most puzzled me as instead of one top middle light it has 2 one indicator indicators on and one indicating high beam can someone pls explain what the SNN nos are correct for the vehicle mentioned? Thanks

PS I tried looking at the excellent potteries branch website but couldn't find any of the nos

SNN just a ref number for the speedo. Not important. What IS important is the tpm number ( 1505/1525/1500) resp in your case - which indicate they are all for use with 4.55 diff.

thanks Roy 2 more questions if I may!

1) if used with 4.55 diff y the different tpms?
2) is the speedo with two upper middle lights correct for a Minor?

Thanks

My 62 has a bronze faced speedo with only one light at the top for the high beams. I don't think minors ever had an indicator light on the speedo as they were either on the dash or the switches.

Yes, it had a lens but nothing behind it . the indicator warning is on the stalk base on mine

come to think of it even my trav has a warning bulb, well at least there was one on the steering column, so there's a good chance mine is also empty, never checked!

Early Minis had silver - and maybe bronze speedos. Think only Mini and Minor share speedo size/design. The variation in tpm numbers is not significant - they are all for 4.55 diff.

I am putting together a chart of speedometers and applications. I am still short of info on late Series IIs and LCVs. I am trying to work out a way of uploading it. My first couple of attempts failed. How do you open the little image box?
Image
