Yes and yes.CeeLou wrote:I have just noticed the green moggie on the 'sale' section doesn't have any mirrors... can they be added? I assume it is legal to drive without them?!

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.
Don't want to confuse you but you may be interested in the spec.....CeeLou wrote:not too sure about the Gulf one... a bit to loud for me!
"So here`s his special features: Owen burton disc brakes,Avo front coil over shocks(adt),Uprated suss bushes,Lowered 3",Rear telescopic shocks,Marina radiator,Modified stub axles,Ital rear axle and gearbox,Marina engine,Metro turbo cylinder head,Marina pedal box and servo,"Momo"steering wheel,"Momo" gear knob,Xr3i front seats and Escort rear seats,Twin electric fans,Ital expansion tank,Electric washer,Re-wired,Alternator conversion,13" Australian import alloy wheels,"Gulf Oil" livery,"Cibie" headlights,Rear seat belts. We have also had two new suspension legs fitted."
I must just add it's nothing to do with me but I saw the car at the Nationals last year and it looked very nice. It's a bit of a bargain too !!

I agree completely with some earlier comments on the pros and cons of Ebay... I got a bargin 1992 BMW 520se, Almost embarased to say how much I paid, but it was a real bargin, it was in the "wrong section" on Ebay, had no interest shown in it so I looked at it in the same way I'd look at a car advertised in any other private media, bid, bought and was left well pleased!
As they say "Caveat emptor"
Good luck with your search... incidently, I got my Moggie from someone on here!

Hi folks,
I have chatted extensively tonight with the owner of the green moggie listed for sale on here and I am off to see her! Hoping to get a first sneeky peek tomorrow night and then take it from there.
The pics look good with just a liltte rust on one wing, the engine and chassis are sound. She is due a new battery before sale too.
If she is what I am looking for I could be the proud owner of Portia (her current name - may get changed by though!) sometime very soon!
Soooo excited!

I got my car from here, but just be aware that not all advertisers are members of the club. Some people post here purely to sell something so you need to check the car as thoroughly as you would if buying from anywhere else.if i were you i would stay well clear of e bay and try to get one from here, you have a better chance of finding a good car
Ceelou - Have you joined the club yet? The club magazine advertises cars for sale and many have been with the same owners for years so are likely to have been well cared for.
You could also look at Classic Car Weekly which is available from most newsagents / supermarkets. There's always loads of Minors for sale in it.

oh no L
was just saying that ebay is a good source of honest vehicles
as some sellers just want to sell their own cars, and not club members, and may not know a great deal
where as us lot know a lot about them and can fluff over the bad points of their cars they are selling
it happens in all clubs, a new member wants to buy something then all of a sudden every one wants to sell the new member something
i have had instances of this in the past and being a novice took the sellers word , and thenm later found i had bought a pup
