hi im a new guy to the modifing scene but im full of ideas! has anyone sunk their tail lights into the wheel arch i assume that u make little buckets for them to sit in then attached them to the wheel arch but does this shroud the light and stop it from being visible?
i also want to do this to the headlights kind of like the headlights on an alfa spider. but i imagine this is heard work what with adjusting the beams and stuff any ideas?

what ur refering too is usually called frenching i think with th rears it wont affect much as for the fronts I think yes but maybe you can paint the headlamp rims to give a bit of an already frenched look
I remember many years ago as an apprentice can,t remember what car we cut the headlamp out with a section of wing we then turned it around and upside down hard to explain but welded it back in so the headlamp was like alfa spider or an early etype it work and looked great. I rebuilt the headlamps of a renault caravelle almost the same idea if I get time tomorrow I will post some pics so you can see how easy it is.Adjusting is just the same as all you have done is turned the part you put your headlamp on the otherway round. Getting back to my point of if you say what town you are in I could have come and shown you how to do it if was near to me. point made on a previous thread.
Have you thought of replacing the standard rear lights with something more flush with the wing? Eg Volvo Amazon lights or Ford 38 style tail lights.
Also, I'm sure I read somewhere that tail lights should be flush with or beyond the rearmost part of the body not including bumpers. Explains why Minor tail lights protrude and are not flush. Probably wouldn't be picked up but you never know.
when i say flush i mean so that the lense doesn't sit outside the curve of the rear wings i.e. if you were to look at the car bang side on it would look as if there are no rear lights. does that make sense?
frenching is the exact thing i want to do to my head lights i kind of understand the idea of turning the headlight section around so that the head light fits further back in the wing this sounds like an easy enough idea but would like to see the pictures that were mentioned.
not toto sure on what modification you are meaning on the headlights but i have seen a moggy with late model mercedes headlghts look great, also i have often though new mini headlights would look noce as well, because they are layed back in the wing.
cheers, michael.
