Traveller project........

Hi , I am almost finished replacing the wood on my old traveller i was lucky to find a mate with some old-but never fitted side panels (made about 15+yrs - discoloured but solid .) Its gone well but my old original back doors ,look and fit , very badly -SO I am looking for a pair of Traveller Back doors in very good condition or just the wood----maybe you may have bought the wood kits but never fitted them ? . I know its a long shot- but worth a try- cos if I buy new ones they will be too `new`!

Always pleased to see new projects on the site (welcome by the way).
I got a pair of doors from ebay for £26 the pair BARGAIN (then a £60 fine and 3 points on the way to collect them)
I'd love to see the pictures , have another go

Cheers...in the meantime I decided to put the old doors back on....just to get me back on 4 wheels..... I will keep looking out for some better ones ps the frame looks a strange colour because I really sooooaked it in 5* to make it a bit more flexible as it had been stuffed in my mates garage for many years...!!

I soaked my wood for weeks before fitting it. Now it has a monthly "dose" of Danish oil.

Right I think I will spark off a debate here......As I said I had to soak the sides in Fivestar before fitting them...and it doesnt look like they are going to dry out enough for a first coat of varnish (I was advised to use Blakes Classic Yacht Varnish ).......But now Im thinking do I Varnsh........or do I oil .....and if so what kind -bearing in mind the 10+drenchings of 5* its now recovering from ??? decisions decisions .

I'd varnish every time if the car is to be used regulary or left outside. But it will need regular checking and re varnishing every 6 months..

Well the 5* should dry out however you probably need a bit of natural heat as you really do want it dry before varnishing which will also need warm weather to dry in a reasonable time just make sure that whatever you use is UV resistant.
