Post by rvwp »

Hi guys, I want to replace the original steering wheel with an aftermarket alternative. I would interested to have your views on which is the best to go for with 14 inch Minilites fitted. many thanks Rich

Remember, the smaller the steering wheel, the heavier the steering. So don't over do it.

I've got 14" Minataurs fitted and I've got a 14" steering wheel - with an "M" in the middle of the hornpush  I don't find it heavy, but noticed a definite difference when using my son's car fitted with a 12" wheel - at low speeds turning does get significantly heavier.

13 inch was the normal aftermarket size for a Minor. I have seen folk using a 10 inch, but that just makes the steering heavy. Splines are the same size as a mini (unless it's the woodruff key type - mm and series 2).
