Door catch on traveller

Post by WilliamP »

Hi all,

The drivers door on my travellor doesn't close properly - it seems to be a problem with the spring on the chrome catch on the car body - it doesn't seem as springy as it should and so although it holds the door closed the door has a large gap. I'm not explaining this well and hope someone understands what I mean! Any suggestions welcome, or info on how/where I can get hold of one of these little catches.

Best wishes

William

The little catch is only a safety - it should really be latching on the main body of the chrome thing.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Yes, as Alex says the door should go fully past the chrome catch and actually lock on at the back of it - sounds like you need to push the door harder or adjust the chrome catch outwards slightly.

Slacken the two philips screws slightly and move the catch outwards a little. Tighten the screws and try again. Keep trying until you get the best fit. Be careful not to damage the screw heads.
