I think they run about 8 to 8.5 on the 1275 based motors. For best results go injection and full management, its much more successfull that the carb which puts fuel mixture through the supercharger, a function I'm informed is not a good idea.( I know it works this way ,but the charger is not designed this way)

ahemm.
low comp lcv pistons in a 1275 with 5 psi is good but forged pistons for 8:1 with 10psi would be better.
thing is a serious 1275 would make the same power as a low boosted standard 1275, so it isn't about power, its more about your choice.
mine runs 10psi and loves it, goes like the clappers. 0 to 60 in low 7's.
vmax kit is good and they are nice people who will help you. I went my own route but purely because thats my sort of thing. If you check my other threads you will find a large thread on my car.
a boosted serious 1098 will be fun but no better probably than a moderate 1275, but it would be cool!
Go on, go for it.
