Hi can any one tell me which manifold I should use with an SU HS4 which I want to put on my 1029 cc Morris minor

You can simply open out thje manifold you have - or get one from a Mini which will suit the larger carb - BUT - they will both still have the 'hot spot' - which robs several BHP from the engine. Depends what flange you have on the carb - if they are diagonal mounting then the MG Metro alloy inlet manifold (or one of it's copies) is the oen to get. If your carb has vertical mounting holes - then either make an adapter and use the MG Metro manifold - or buy a specialiost manifold. If your flanges are not diagonal - may be best to simply look for an HIF 38 carb - its a later and better design anyway, and it fits straight on the MG inlet manifold.

As mentioned a standard 998cc mini is the most staightforward as it was made with HS4 and fits onto the standard exhaust system without any mods needed, opening out a cast iron manofold wont be easy.
