How strange you say that, I move more people from kent essex and london to this area than I move people down south. It seems some southerners have a them and us way of thinking maybe this north of watford gap is the way you think you should maybe broaden your mind a bit. I will just add I am a southerner myself born down your way but lived up north 37 years and loving it allways glad to see the Lincolnshire sign at least people will stop and talk to me up north unlike some and I mean only some. maybe you should take your head out of your bottom. Sorry to go on but I never criticise where other people live so maybe you should not

Please, please, please ... all you southerners please dont question your recieved ideas of the north ... you wouldnt like it up here, its all square wheels and steam tellies ... really it is, honest!

Phew ... one of the best things about the north of england is it's lack of southerners, if they ever work out what they are missing out on then they will all move up here and then what will we do?

Shh you Scots, they dont know and it's best to keep it that way ;)

That's a lot to do with property prices unfortunately as its a great shame we don't have an even market when it comes to property so that everyone who wished to move would be able to do so.

Just as an aside I am London born and have only moved as far as Watford Herts (the larger one with the football club) no offence to the village of Watford which is where the gap gets its name from but its in the Midlands in Northamtonshire 65 miles away so the phrase north of Watford Gap really applies to North of the Midlands which is getting on for Half the UK.

Kevin you are probably right about house price but let me quote one of my last customers who moved from Dorking to Mablethorpe quote at least I can get to the end of my road and turn anyway left or right without waiting 20 mins and to do the same distanc for work I do in 6 mins not 40 -50 mins. this guy is 71 years old born and bred a surrey man asked would he move back never was the answer. Dont think I think people from south are all like it as I know thats not true. just get pi--ed off with people taking a pop at scunthorpe

well it does get you down but as I was not a member of this forum most of you must have come to the Normamby park scunthorpe meeting 3 years ago never seen so many moggies in one place I wish I had come in my pick up but I was not sure of the reception as my pick up is customised. my point is scunthorpe is not the place people think it is

For some reason this is real sore point within the club generally as in my branch we welcome all types and condition of Moggies as most branches and rally's do. But you do get the odd individual who moans about non standard fittings departing from originality, and these few individuals cause more grief and misrepresentation of the Moggie scene than you would think possible. One person with this type of attitude at a rally and everyone gets to hear about it, thank goodness for different tastes I for one would not want a custom vehicle but really appreciate the time and effort that goes into creating one and love looking at them.
Cheers
