winter chop shop rebuild...

Post by beario »

Hi all incase anyones interested...
copied and pasted the whole story/condensed it to make shorter, was easier than writing it again...lol
long story cut short, sold my sbc supra in middle of the summer/winter and fancied something a little more hotrod,so bought this minor, was built back in 1990 and has lasted very well...even though a few people have done some dodgy botching to say the least...i have had the car 6 months now (cheers for collecting scottie) the door gaps were horrendous and needed some attention,so have now fixed this,by getting the doors to line up i removed all the plasticspacers someone had made up to shim the doors, and now they fit lovely,to get a prefect fit i am going to light skim the edge of door and rear quarter so the gaps are nice, next was replacing the perspex windows all round,so fitted new rubber/clayton rite, and cut flat lam for the opening front dr quaretrs and rear quarter panel glass and its come up very nice, engine needs some serious tlc on the looks department and some serious detailing,re paint the chasis and cant decide want paint scheme to do her...ANY SUGGESTIONS OR PICS...then re carpet and headliner..phew...thats enough for now heres a few pics...also looking for some 5x112 pcd deep dish rims...

Fantastic and WELL done, that's a lot of work.
So did you spray the car, remove rear wings and fit new beading?

hi dave yes i removed the rear wings etc etc and sprayed the car in my garage and bought new wing beading...was a right pita to fit as the body/wheelbase is slightly longer to give the car more of an authentic coupe look... :D

the car is motd and taxed till sep 2009,couple weeks hopefully beore its carpeted etc...but unfotunately i will have to sell as i have spent far to much on the car than originally planned, and tthere are rumours of job/salary cuts...so combined with having a little baby...i am going to sell,so if anyones interested in the car please email me at bearnigel at yahoo dot com thanks...

Well that's some transformation.
You should put you whereabouts in your location then at least interested people will know where you are.
Cheers
