I mounted mine on the gearbox tunnel in front of the gear stick, but i had removed the parcel shelf so it was to hand and nothing in its way when i needed it to help put out an engine fire on a ford fiesta.

isn't your passanger going to kick it every time they get in the car?

mounting it on the tunnel did not stop me running the heater, it was there for about 2 years before i used it so i do not think the heater had any affect on it, but i did not think about the affect of heating and cooling them. Is that not a good idea?

As you say under the dash is not good you need to be able to get to it quickly and easily if / when you need it!

On my Series MM I bolted the extinguisher behind the back seat in the corner of the rear shelf.
The Traveller extinguisher is bolted to the front of the driver's seat adapter frame.

How about under the drivers seat?
It shouldn't be in the way and if the fire is inside you would want to get out ASAP and if it's under the bonnet you have to get out anyway.

I have one in my Midget, mounted under the passenger's seat - pretty quick to get at it, but out of the way.

I wouldn't recommend under the driver's seat, as IF it came loose, it could roll forward and block the pedals or otherwise distract you into a crash.

And then the car would catch fire.

And then there'd be an awful lot of paperwork......
