I don't believe it for a second. The seller seemed to like upsetting people and I'm sorry if his comments managed to upset you.
I expect that if the car exists and it was actually for sale, then it is probably still for sale - however the sellers ways of communicating may put off a lot of potential buyers.

That was very politely put, Ray. I'd been trying to think of the right words to say about all this but everytime I wrote something I had to delete it !!!!

It was an on/off on/off on/off sale for quite some time. And I had a couple of 'strange' PMs too during the poor car's short existance on here. I too suspect it has not been scrapped just yet, and am keeping a weather eye on ebay!
Perhaps the chap in question would be fine if you met him in person. He may just be really poor at expressing himself online and he became angry when he perceived people to be unnecessarily 'having a go.' He did have a valid point that he was under no obligation to sell the car at below market value just because it was a bargain when he bought it.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.
He may have had a valid point from a 'business' perspective, however I believe that there is a strong moral thread running through much of the minor community ... something which seems to have escaped this particular person.
If this person has 'scrapped' the car then I would be most suprised if it ended up in a crusher ... most scrappies know their stuff and can separate the dead losses from the really quite tasty's ... if the scrappy has anything about him he'll be driving it south and selling it to a dealer somewhere in the south-east!
As for percieving me to be 'having a go' .. I'm more than happy to hold my hands up and admit, yes I was quite definitley having a go ... to my mind this bloke is really taking the p.
I don't mind the profiteering as much as a bad attitude. Most of us are happy to make a few quid when possible (some more than others) but fortunately most people try not to upset others.

I am and I make a point of it ... I call it karma, and in all honesty it has worked out very well for me in the long run.
Aah- but how much better might the other way have worked for you, had your inner self been led astray? You'll never know Wow! that was a bit heavy, think I'll go and lie down now!
I'm a bit peeved that I accidently stumbled on the gripe mentioned above, knowing nothing of the history of it, then found myself spending an inordinate amount of time detectiving it just so I knew what it was all about- then wondering why I'd spent all that valuable time doing something so trivial when the washing up needs doing! At least I'm up with the goss now!
