What about this wheel?

Hi!

I'm just finishing the restoration of my Minor and have a problem with the wheels.

The car is a 4 door saloon, Series II, built in January 1954.

I bought the car in a very bad condition and it had only three original wheels. By "original" I mean that it is the earliest style with three pins and a whole for adjusting the brakes. Here is a picture of the wheel with markings for the distance between the fixing screws and between the hole for the hub :

The fourth wheel that came with the car is of the later style. Here is another picture with the same measurements:

Naturaly the measurements are the same. However, I acquired another wheel that should be correct for my year. It looks exactly the same, with its three pins for the chrome the hub cup and the extra hole for adjusting the brakes. However the wheel does not fit!!! The measurements are not the same!!! they're larger!!!

Can someone sort this out for me? I know that there is another style of wheel that was used. It was similar to the earliest one but lacked the hole for the brake ajustment.

could it be from anEarly MM rather than a series II?

The Series MM and early SII wheel has a 4 1/2 in PCD. The late SII /M1000 wheel with the A series rear axle has a 4 in PCD.

It is indeed the earlier (and relatively rare) wheel with the 4.5" pcd. No use for your car - but someone will want to have it fom you I'm sure!
