door skins

Post by ian.mcdougall »

Has anybody fitted doorskins, are they a good fit /shape, I am a panelbeater sprayer by profession so skinning a door will be no problem, its just that the time fitting a lower section then filling will probably take as long as a complete skin and while the skin is off the interior of the door could have any rust attended to and rust prevention could be done
Image

Image
I've locally welded repairs into much worse state doors than those! If you are a pro then it should be a piece of cake - I'm just an enthusiastic ameteur....

its not whether a piece of cake or not just if the skin is a good fit and does not need a lot of adjustment to get a good fit, it will be a quicker job and will not need filler or better still lead loading. So still need to hear from someone who has fitted them and are they a good fit as pattern panels can be hit and miss on quality and fit

Would be interesting to know how well a complete door skin fits. I went for the bottom skin part replacement on mine and thankfully have a panel beater friend who helped and advised - took a while to do but a nice end result.
