My Morris Minor website

Hi there. I am quite into making sites about certain things. I started with my Model Railway site and after noticing how forum posts about the progress of people's cars can get quite large, I thought I would set up a site for my car and what is happening with it etc. People can comment on it privately or talk about it on this post. Please feel free to check it out and I recommend making one to others. Easier to upload pics and a blog can be made.

Hi Stephen, great site. It's nice that you know the history of your car, and that it stayed local.

I bought my green 4 door 3 years ago from St Neots.

Keep working away on that to "to do" list. Unfortunately I keep adding more to the bottom of mine quicker than I can scratch things off!

I wish I had the same space/equipment!

Thanks. It is nice as we don't have to trace where it came from.

Do you live locally then? With it being 3 years ago, I wouldn't have been looking for one so obviously wouldn't have seen yours.

I hope that we can sort most of the to do list items but as we know from our other classic car, it never ends.

And I also wish we had the space and equipment. My uncle has a large workshop for doing cars and has quite a bit of equipment but with it being over 100 miles away, it's not convenient

Ahh.. modelling, a very relaxing and stress relieving pastime.

I'm currently scratchbuilding some Black Fives, I don't have a layout. I just like the cutting, folding and forming of nickel. They are on the backburner at the moment while I get the moggy on the road.

Most defininately intend to keep it up Steve. 4mm is my preferred scale like yourself, but after reading a book by the late Guy Williams I decided making everything from scratch and out of nickel was for me (call me a loon). This is his work at Pendon http://www.pendonmuseum.com/index.jsp he built all the loco's yo can see.

By the way.... psst rebuilding a moggy is easier as it's bigger, but just a rewarding..

You'll find the modelling will give you the creativity and the head start you need on to get your moggy road worthy.

I have been to the Pendon Museum. They're spectacular layouts and the detail is stunning.
And Yes,rebuilding a moggy is easier because you can use a hammer, but not damage too much.

Did a bit of work on the car today but I will tell you about it on the site. Don't want to ruin anything ;)

Love the website and love the car!! Spot on with your choice!! My first car was an almond green 2 door (picked up several more Mogs since) , still got her 12 years later and she's my fav....

Looks almost the same as mine with the fogs. Apart from yours is clean

. Mine is still dusty but we polished all the chrome today. Its a lovely car and a lovely colour. Do you know if they ever did saloons in the British Army Dark green like on the trav's

I'm not sure......I've seen saloons in all sorts of shades. Mine used to be a much darker green when I first put her on the road..... I couldn't afford proper paint (was still at 6th form) so my Dad sprayed her with Dulux weathershield!!

(she wasn't sat in a warm garage like yours....she was in someone's garden for over 10 years and had a tree growing through the floor) I just went to the local DIY shop and chose a colour!! It lasted about 10 years mind!! I've recently put her back to her original colour witht the proper paint..... What you can see is my first attempt at spraying.....don't look too close!!

Your interior looks pretty original..... should clean up a treat....

I did a website for my Manta - I put a web counter on and received 1000's of hits from all over the world - I would still have it if it was not for a disagreement with the web hosting company!
