Not sure what the oil filter should be (not looked yet too wet cant get on floor) i bought 2 kits 1 person has sent me a paper filter the other has sent me a metal screw on 1 ??????? not sure any idea?? its a 1967 1098cc is it
The kit was off e bay plugs points oil and air filter etc
Both could be correct. Originally you would have had the paper type that goes inside a canister with a big bolt through it. However, it could have been converted to a metal screw on type. If you still have the early canister type make sure you get the spring and pressure plate in the correct place or else rapid engine wear will ensue....

Thanks i will have a look when this rain stops this weather a pain got a part no for the filter fram PH966B been on there site and it does not say a moggy can use it lol oh well time will tell lol
The screw on canister is unlikely - unless your car has been modified it needs the paper filter which is fitted from below. And as siad above - it is VERY important that the plate and spring are present - otherwise the filter does absolutely nothing. Do you have the workshop manual ? It's detailed on page AAA.2. If you don't have the manual - you can download it FREE !
