I was going to say that cam! i don't own a single MG, but i know a moss dealer very well - I can get trade prices but other places are still cheaper! and i must point out that im only telling what ive read/been told about the 1500, ive never driven it (or the 1275 come to that )!
has anybody thought about the twin rotor ****** engine from an RX7/RX8 - i know someones done it with a midget...... very light, very high revving, but probably not that much torque....
Yes Matt, I wouldn't say it's common, but there are a few over here with this mod.
All sorts seem to be fitted here, last year I saw a Minor with a Subaru flat four in it - seemed quite a nice fit.

It was designed for a flat four.
Interesting that one of the shortcomings of the Minor's handling is it's willingness to run wide on bends. With a flat four, the engine would be shorter and further back and would help with this handling problem.
Issigonis really was light years ahead of the competition
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.
Don't get too excited Cam!!
It wasn't one of the turbo jobbies, but I suppose that's only the next step. I assume the Subaru stuff is similar to VW in that the outside appearance of different cc engines is nearly the same.
