Exhausts
Where's best for Exhaust these days?.
It seems the 'economic' stainless steel one has dropped of the suplliers on line listings. There is a three piece one which seems a bit expensive.
I'm not really bothered about stainless, just want a cheap exhaust to get the Moggy back on the road again.

Morris Minor Centre Birmingham are still showing mild steel exhaust at £31.79, but is one piece. I suppose you could ask them to cut in two and send it to you if you can't collect! http://www.morrisminor.co.uk/index.htm

The mild steel exhausts made by Bosal are excellent, the cheap stainless systems were noisy and made of nasty cheap stainless, probably why most suppliers aren't buying any more in. The ~£100 2 piece stainless systems are very nice and made of 304 stainless, but is it worth it and are you going to have the car in the 5 years or so the mild steel one will last?

I've had the same problem as Cam, only the supplier has told me that "they've never had any problems before" and is refusing to replace any further sections. The centre one looks vaguely like it's starting to fracture again (when I had a quick nose) and the front section is leaking, again.
If it does snap and they don't replace it I'll have to buy a new (not made by this company) one.....

Aye, lots of exhaust places have looked at it - and when asked if it needs extra supports they all say 'no'...
Since they've alternately failed at the front and rear of the front silencer I would guess the stress can't be in the same place each time.

...and just to keep people updated ('cos I know you want that), it did indeed fracture again. The weld around the front silencer gave way. Now I'm sat debating a full Maniflow system (<painful noise> 300 quid </painful noise>) or another stainless system from someone else. There seem to be a variety of options... none of which appear to be in stock for the entire exhaust.
I need to debate quickly though, 'cos the DAF's in bits and the only other option is the MZ (and it's *really* cold, especially at 6am on a motorbike) :-/
So I can order it, does anyone know if the Maniflow LCB exhaust fits the ital manifold? Or does it come as a manifold that connects to the head ('cos my manifold is a single piece inlet and exhaust jobbie). It only lists the one option...
Absolutely no one else seems to actually have a complete exhaust system in. My other option, so far as I can tell, is to get the ESM front section (77 quid) and lose the front silencer altogether. I suspect that'd be 'quite loud' though...

Bull Motif? Is that a Falcon system (the 2 piece + manifold section)?
It *looks* quite like one...
Also, it says you need 'EX102C, EX102D and EX102E' which I can't find on their site... am I being blind?

Got my LCB 2 silencer, 3section system for the Traveller from MMC Birmingham a couple of years ago. It seems OK so far but doesn't sound like a Minor. I had to twist the front silencer section at an awkward angle to get the rear section to line up over the axle properly. If the join had been on the straight section behind the front silencer instead of on the angle over the axle there would have been no problem
