You could be in luck - he may want to send you a large cheque for you to bank - then you send him back the balance! beware!!!
Just possible of course -that he is genuine and will buy/take delivery of the car in the UK - and then he can take it back to Portugal if he wants!!

My brother sold his Harley on Ebay to someone from Holland - no problems at all - they came across picked it up and drove it home after giving him a wad of cash.

I put the same on my ad for the 69 Land Rover...
It was bought by an Italian, but he did turn up and pay cash (then drove it back to Italy)

Yes, same experience on e-bay
Sold a kit car to an Italian who sent a lorry over to pick it up and paid in cash, also a Daimler to a chap in Norway who also paid promptly in cash.
I do agree with limiting sales to buyers with few feedbacks, but be aware there are just as many Sharks and Time Wasters in Great Britain

A mate of mine sold his Lada to two Lithuanians.... we still laugh about it now. They paid cash and £100 more than the asking price.. which makes it even funnier. He could barely understand them so they just put the stirling in his hand, he drove them to the bank to confirm they were genuine notes. Then filled out the V5 in the bank.. job done.

He is probably trying to make the most of the Euro's value against the pound.

I just sold a BMW motorbike to a Polish chap .... communication was different, he sent several text messages to the house phone before turning up with cash and putting the bike on a trailer...
